Jammu, Oct 18: Alleging irregularities in charging of students fund by National Service Scheme (NSS), Jammu Students Morcha (JSM) has demanded audit of the department for the last three years. Addressing media persons, Vikram Kumar President JSM said that Department of National Service Scheme has been charging students Fund from each student (Rs. 125 per student), who took admission in Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Directorate of Distance Education, B.Ed. M.Ed and even in any other private college of state. JSM President Vikram Kumar said University collects lakhs of rupee per year from the students. But, surprisingly the money so collected was not being utilized for NSS activities. The Department of National Service Scheme has not organized the activities of NSS satisfactorily. In this sense, the money collected from the students every year is going waste and misused by the University officers for their own sake. He demanded the complete record of funds collected on the name of NSS and its expenditure during the last three years. |
