Distt AIOBCU Chapter demands Mandal Commission, OBCs status instead of OSCs | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri , Oct 22: All India Other Backward Classes Union (AIOBCU) Rajouri unit has demanded 27 % reservation for their community instead of 2 % at present and also demanded Other Backward Classes (OBCs) certificates in favor of their community instead Other Social Castes (OSCs). A meeting of AIOBCU was held at Rajouri today under the president ship of Abdul Majid Qureshi , District President in which large number of community members participated and deliberated upon the issues taken up in meeting. The Other Social Castes (OSCs) members also criticized the State Government for not enhancing the creamy layer from Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh as per Union Government decision taken about 3 years back. Members also demanded issuing of OSC certificates on the basis of income certificate instead of issuing fresh OSCs certificates and also demanded replacing OSCs certificates (which is mandatory at present for the community) with OBCs certificates . Community leaders appealed to the State Government to constitute OBC Advisory Board and to implement the Mandal Commission recommendations in the State, opening of OBC Hostels at every district headquarter on the pattern of Pahari and Gujjar communities . Members reminded that during his tenure of former vice chairman OBC Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Verma had demanded political reservation to other backward classes, OBC Bhawan at Jammu and Srinagar, removal of income bar for pre and post metric scholarships for OBCs students, reservation of seats in Kendriya Vidayalas and sanctioning of sub plan for OBCs for their upliftment and welfare etc, |
