ECPFWA stages protest, highlights demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 22: Ex Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (ECPFWA) under the aegis of its General Secretary Darshan Kumar held a protest outside at Press Club, Jammu here today to highlight their long pending demands. Addressing the protestors, General Secretary ECPFWA, Darshan Kumar who led the protest said, "The Association comprises of 15 Laks retired personnel including war widows, widows and 75 lakh dependents all over the country from BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, Assam Rifles. "Though knowing the fact that member of Association are on hunger strike for 36 days yet no leader of J&K or Govt of India have not turned to listen to their voice. KK Gupta DIG (Retd) and A K Sethi DIG (Retd) who also were present in the protest sharing their views spoke on the disparity and discrimination doled to Ex Central Paramilitary Forces (Retirees, war widows, widows, orphans and dependents). They said, "GoI is cogitative to resolve our woes while the Association is cogent till our genuine and fundamental demands are not met." Highlighting their demands speakers said One Rank One Pension (OROP) was granted to Defence Forces but the Ex Central Paramilitary Forces were denied from the benefits of OROP. They also said that New Pension Scheme (NPS) enforced on the Central Paramilitary Forces is totally pesky and thus demand all central forces to be exempted from of NPS. They lamented that a good number of men from Central Paramilitary Forces got retired every year but there are no rules having provisions to give them the Ex Servicemen Status till date. Speakers also demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance from to Rs 300/- to Rs 500/- pm and in absence of ECHS facilities the medical allowance shall be enhanced to Rs. 2000/- pm. |
