HC directs PHE Deptt to supply clean drinking water 10/23/2015 12:14:27 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 22: High Court in a petition filed, directed the Public Health and Engineering Department to supply clean drinking water to residents. Justice B S Walia of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a judgment yesterday directed the Executive Engineer of PHE Department to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to the residents of Chhani Himmat area through mobile water tankers till further orders. An order was passed in a petition filed by one Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh contending that the over head water tank has been constructed in violation of the Master Plan in Chhani Himmat Sector-1, so the High Court stayed the construction of Water Tank. Advocates pleading the case apprised the Court that more than 1,500 people of the area are suffering from water scarcity.
