Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 22: Accusing the BJP for what they described as its persistent treacherous betrayals, hundreds of Panthers Party activists led by Chairman JKNPP, Harsh Dev Singh, staged a protest demonstration against the Saffron party for succumbing before the Kashmir based leaders for its petty political gains here today.
The protestors amid anti-BJP slogans set ablaze the effigy of 26 headed monster symbolising BJP with an equal number of MLAs on Dussehra. Admonishing the BJP for playing foul with Jammu region time and again with all kinds of gimmicks, tricks and betrayals for keeping an unholy alliance alive, Singh said the BJP had cowardly sold the mandate of the people of Jammu region to its coalition partner PDP for the crumbs of power.
"BJP has miserably failed to espouse and fulfill the aspirations of the people who had overwhelmingly voted them to power in the last Assembly elections because of its political impuissance and fragility," said Singh.
He said the BJP by surrendering AIIMS to Kashmir and divesting Jammu of Smart City project had only exposed its perfidious and treacherous character and pointed out that the Saffron brigade has shelved all the Jammu related issues pertaining to Delimitation of the Assembly constituencies, Granting State Subject rights to West Pak refugees, One time settlement for PoK refugees, According ownership rights to the occupants of Custodian property, Rehabilitation of farmers and border residents, Regularization of contractual employees including the daily wagers working in various Government departments, Regularization of SPOs, NYC volunteers, temporary teachers and ReT teachers, Revocation of the draconian Recruitment policy, Mubarak Mandi Cable Car and Heritage projects for Jammu, only to retain their ministerial berths.
"Criminal silence of the BJP over Article 370 in the wake of the recent ruling of the High Court of J&K, maintained the perception of BJPs swash-buckle has been completely busted and exposed in the Autumn session of Assembly in Srinagar," Singh said.
JKNPP State President Balwant Singh Mankotia, while seeking the immediate arrest of MLA Er Rashid for sacrilegious acts committed by him, maintained that the felon lawmaker was responsible for flaring up communal passions all across the State and the Country and as such he should have been booked under the provisions of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
He said the BJP which would create ruckus on trivial issues during the opposition had only showed its pusillanimity by granting immunity to Er Rashid from arrest and allowing him to go scot-free.
