Mirwaiz attitude irks Geelani, Malik | Crisis in separatists camp | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 15: The separatists camp in Srinagar is again in crisis, this time for a different reason. Early Times has learnt from credible sources that hardcore Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mohammad Yasin Malik are likely to skip 'Joint meeting' to be convened by Mirvaiz Umar Farooq-Chairman of moderate Hurriyat conference. Sources said that the bossy style of Mirvaiz Umar Farooq, who has lost much ground due to ISI's back stabbing has irked Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik and other dozens of leaders known for Pro-Pakistan stand. They said that despite announcing the date of 'Joint meeting' convened for countering what they call anti-people policies, Mirvaiz is yet shape the program due to stiff opposition from its own constituents. "Constituents of Moderate Hurriyat aren't supporting Mirvaiz this time for number of reasons. They don't want to face rebels who recently joined Hurriyat conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani," an insider prey to this political development. He said separatist camp led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani will also not too stoop down to such level and likely way will attend the meeting apparently conveyed for forging a unity. Sources said that Mirvaiz Umar Farooq is inviting over 200 people mainly religious scholars and molvis in the meeting but hasn't yet sent invitation to Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other separatist leaders. They claimed that Mirvaiz will clear stand on Monday after chairing a meeting of his constituents which is conveyed. "Mirvaiz has conveyed now a meeting of his constituents on Monday at APHC headquarters in Rajbagh Srinagar. Motive behind the meeting is tame those who are opposing the idea of conveying a 'joint meeting' so on Monday it will be clear whether Mirvaiz succeeds or not?" A middle rung separatist leader said. He said that Pakistan has stopped backing Mirvaiz Umar Farooq from last over six months, therefore he is leaving no stone unturned to appease the maters sitting in cozy corridors across the border but Syed Geelani and others will spoil his game. |
