Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters' Association (JKFFA) today celebrated 116th birth anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh here at Dogra Shourya Sthal Ambphalla. General Secretary, Mohalla Welfare Committee. Mohammad Ashraf was the Chief Guest, paid tributes to Shaheed Udham Singh. Speaking on the occasion, association president Ved Gandotra threw light on the life and supreme sacrifice of Udham Singh. They said that the real tributes to the martyrs would be eradicating evils prevailing in the society. They exhorted youth to refrain from drugs and intoxicants. Remembering Shaheed Udham Singh, the members also highlighted his life history and his determination to eliminate British General Dier, who was responsible for the massacre of Jalianwala Bagh, Amritsar. They also said that Udham Singh was an Indian freedom fighter, considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. They also stressed upon the youth to shun their self-centered outlook and contribute in the development of the nation. The prominent people who participated in the function were Rajiv Mahajan, Rajesh Kesari, Pritam Sharma, Biny Mahajan, Parbhat Kapahi, Tej Ram Dogra, Rajinder Singh, Gagan Singh, Ayub Malik, Raja and Rakesh. |
