Channi expresses concern over poor state of health sector | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 26: Expressing concern over the poor healthcare facilities in the Government Hospitals, the General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Surinder Singh Channi said that people are suffering for want of proper medical facilities, poor hygiene and sanitation condition in the health institutions in the state. Channi was commenting on the poor state of hospitals after visiting the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu. He said that the patients are facing lot of hardships at GMC&H, Jammu as the window panes are broken due to which the chilly winds enter into the wards where the patients are recuperating but unfortunately there is no heating facility. Channi said that there is no proper specialized treatment and the patients are compelled to run to other private hospitals/nursing homes for any cure. He also criticized state government for its tall claims that the government is providing better healthcare facilities to the people and said that the PDP-BJP coalition government has failed on all fronts to serve the people of state. He urged up on the concerned authorities to rise to the occasion and upgrade the medical facilities in government hospitals, especially in GMC&H, Jammu where people of all spheres come from far-flung areas with the hope of better medical treatment. |
