Kishtwar Dec 26: The government teachers of Marwah zone have not received their salaries for the past four months, according a deputation of teachers that called on the deputy commissioner here today. Masters, teachers, ReTs and other subordinate staff called on the DC and showed their concern over delay in the posting of Zonal Education Officer, Marwah, as a result of which the employees posted in the far-flung Marwah area were without salaries for the last over four months. In the absence of ZEO, drawing disbursing officer of the zone, the employees of Marwah zone were not getting their salaries, they said. They told the DC that the ZEO, who was posted there by the education department, had still not joined his duties. They also demanded the release of salaries of teachers posted in KGBV schools, saying they had not got salaries for the last 14 months. They also sought his intervention in the collection of databse of teachers/masters hailing from Marwah and Warwan for uploading on official website. "Since the areas are far flung, having no access during the winter season, a special team be deputed there for speedy collection of data of these employees as it is not possible for local employees to reach at Kishtwar on time," they said. The DC, after giving them a patient hearing, took up the matter with Director School Education, Jammu, who assured him that drawing and disbursing power would be assigned to some senior official for withdrawal of the salaries of all the employees posted in Marwah education zone. He informed them that the matter regarding collection of data from Marwah employees and others issues raised by them had been taken up with CEO, Kishtwar, for early redressal. |
