Jammu, Dec 26 : J&K Senior & Junior Taekwondo Team reached Jammu after participating in 34th Senior National Taekwondo Championships and 35th Junior National Taekwondo Championships held at J.N Stadium, Cuttack, Orissa in which 22 J&K players participated which comprised of 13 Junior and 9 Senior boys and girls.
First time in the history of J&K Taekwondo senior girl of J&K State, Kajal won Silver medal in girls under 49 kg and lost her final bout against Uttar Pradesh in close contest.
Before finals, she played like a champion and won 5 bouts. J&K Taekwondo Association gave warm welcome to Kajal and also gave cash award to her for this great achievement. Beside 6 players reached the quarter finals but unfortunately they lost in the quarters in a tough battle against their opponents.
Those who participated in the junior team were Vinit Kumar, Randhir Singh, Lakshit Sarmal, Vishesh Thakur, Danish Manzoor, Sagar Dalal, Mohit Singh, Anish Sharma, Tarun Sharma, Faraz Ashraf, Mansi Dubey, Priya Verma, Vanika with Coach Rakim Rameez and senior team were Rohit Sharma, Arvind Kumar Satti, Sunil Vaid, Sourav Sharma, Nitish Anand, Anshul Deshwal, Khalid Mehraj, Narinder Sharma.Before National Championship JKTA organized the State championship for the selection of team also conducted special coaching camp Anil Gupta, Chairman, JKTA, P.C Sharma President JKTA, Nissar Hussain Vice President JKTA, D.N Pangotra General Secretary JKTA, Anuj Sharma Organizing Secretary JKTA congratulated the Team and coaches for their good performance at National Level. |
