JAMMU, Jan 15 : Unique Club Jammu clinched the title trophy in the 2nd Senior Open State Tug of War Championship which was organised by J&K Tug of War Association at Unique Higher Secondary School, here today. In the final, Unique Club outplayed Guru Harkrishan Higher Secondary School 2-1. Earlier, in the semifinals, again played today, Guru Harkrishan beat Jammu district 2-0 while Unique Club trounced Khalsa Club 2-0. Other Results (preliminary round): Khalsa Club Miran Sahib bt Unique Public HSS 2-0; Pulwama district bt Budgam district 2-0; Jammu district bt Pulwama 2-0. In the final and valedictory function, retired police officer (SSP), Bhopinder Singh was chief guest who gave away the title trophies as also other individual prizes. He encouraged the participants and lauded the efforts of the Association. Among others present were Jodh Singh Isher, Nimran Deep Singh, Suchet Garh, Jasvir Singh, Nirlap Kaur, Ravinder Singh. Meanwhile, the Association has also selected the state team for the upcoming 28th Senior National Championship at Aurangabad in Maharashtra from January 22. |
