Ministerial bungalows deserted, 'occupants' feel isolated

Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 15: Until a week back, the Ministerial bunglows in the winter capital in posh residential areas which could be seen bustling with activities are secluded and isolated places today, most of them vacant or partially occupied by those who were allotted 10 months back after PDP-BJP alliance Government came into existence. While the entire lot of PDP Ministers is still camping in Srinagar, BJP Ministers have confined themselves to four walls of the 'sarkari' accommodation with little activities seen around these places.
Official residences or the bunglows are the only privileges which Ministers are now left with after the Government ceased to exist a week ago, the official vehicles and personal staff already having been detached from them. No matter they are staying in these bunglows despite being out of power, the huge, palatial houses no longer present a busy look, sources said, adding that the cavalcade of vehicles which would form beeline around the parking areas are no where in sight now.
The bunglows present an ordinary look enveloped in uneasy calm and quietness, said the sources, adding that more than lack of vehicles and absence of staff in hordes, there is a political reason as to why the houses occupied by BJP Ministers present a deserted and desolate look. For the last over one week, the general public which would wait for hours and sometimes for days, is staying away for obvious reasons. Even the party workers who would throng and flock around the bunglows of Ministers for entire day have now abandoned these places all of a sudden, said the sources, adding that the workers are not seen at any BJP Minister's official residence, something which has added to frustration of the mantries.
Having realized futility of their presence around the erstwhile Ministers, the workers are no more giving importance to even senior leaders, said the sources, adding that this reflects to what extent the workers and die hard supporters of the party feel disgruntled and disappointed today. This State of affairs when they are left with neither dozens of personal staff nor any vehicles, besides having been bereft of the carvan of security, they have reason to feel desperate and isolated, said the sources. While a couple of Ministers have kept themselves busy in political engagements outside, most of them have confined themselves to secluded bungalows with a constant fear that if it takes longer in Government formation, they will be snatched this privilege too.
