Life imprisonment awarded to murder accused 1/15/2016 11:54:16 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Jan 15: Additional Sessions Judge Rajouri, Khalil Choudhry today awarded simple life imprisonment to an accused allegedly involved in a murder case and also imposed fine of Rs 5000 on the accused. After hearing the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) and counsel for the accused on quantum of the sentence the Additional Sessions Judge Judge, Khalil Choudhry observed that the facts and the evidence don't suggest that it was a diabolic murder. He further observed that the accused does not have any previous criminal record. So keeping in view his (accused) age, the manner in which the murder was committed by him and all other factors, the accused doesn't deserve the extreme penalty of death. With these observations, the court convicted accused under section 302 RPC and sentenced simple imprisonment for life and fine of Rs5000 for commission of offence. The court also said In case of default in payment of the fine the accused would undergo a further imprisonment for a period of one month. According to police case, one Raj Kumar alias Raju son of Sain Dass of Sial Sui of Kalakot tehsil in Rajouri district had been booked the accused in the murder of one Prem Kumar son of Kikar Singh of the same village.
