Govt primary school Patrada turns into cattle shed | | | Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Jan 15: Despite government assurances and commitment number of students getting enrolled in government schools is declining with each passing day due to various reasons like poor infrastructure, lackadaisical attitude of government teachers towards students, competition with private schools and parents want to provide quality education to their wards at any costs. After facing these challenges Govt schools are trying to survive at the cost of state exchequer but due to the negligence of staff of education department Govt school premises are fast turning into cattle sheds. Government Primary school Patrada is a glaring example of where locals allegedly are using school premises as a cattle shelter. Local residents Suresh Kumar and Ramesh Kumar told Early Times that students studying at GPS Patrada are facing various hardships. " Our repeated attempts to meet the Zonal Education officer, Bimla Devi in this connection have proved futile as whenever we tried meeting her we got a blunt reply that she is not in the office." When ET contacted ZEO, Bimla Devi over phone she said, "We are looking into the matter and necessary action would be taken to stop these types of practices" The Chief Education Officer Rajouri , Mohammad Altaf told Early Times that ZEO should look into the matter and if ZEO is not able to resolve the matter then action would be taken against the people responsible for allowing school to turn into cowshed. |
