Counseling, Treatment of AIDS held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 6 : The volunteers of Red Ribbon club of Govt Degree College R S Pura visited ICTC and ART Centre at GMC Jammu along with Nodal Officer Dr. Jaipal Singh and project Director Rajesh Sharma of J & K State AIDS control Society in collaboration with JKSACS. Ritu Sharma and Monika Sharma counselor of integrated counseling and testing centre (ICTC) discussed in detail the ways to educate the affected person so that AIDS they may garner strength to come forward for the treatment. Dr Vijay Kumar Verma, Senior Medical Officer of ART Centre at GMC Jammu apprised the volunteers about the disease and its treatment. In his interaction with the students, He stated that though it is yet not cure able but its patient can live a longer life with proper medication and counseling. Sufferers must come to ART Centre for proper treatment where their identity would be kept confidential. Earlier, Principal Dr Savitri Sharma blessed the volunteers for their selfless services to the society in the noble cause of counseling the society and thanked Director JKSACS Saleem Ur Rehman for providing the opportunity to the volunteers of Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College, R.S. Pura in the larger interest of the nation. |
