Poor BSNL connectivity irk customers | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 6: Despite having large number of post paid and prepaid subscriber in Rajouri district, one of the largest telecommunication company of India , Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have continuously been losing its subscribers due to poor cell phone connectivity and internet services. Not only the poor connectivity and internet services but BSNL employees drawing huge amount in shape of salaries and appointed in the district even don't bother to improve the services . "For the benefit of the subscribers a cash collection centre was established by the BSNL authorities opposite to Head Post office in the old REajouri town, but mostly it remain closed either due to defunct machinery or due to casual approach of the concerned officials and the employees deputed at this centre" said Yogesh Sharma, a political leader & social activist On the other hand private player in the fields have been providing interruption free services to their subscriber resulting in huge revenue loss to BSNL as its many subscribers turning to private players operating in the field. BSNL consumers have been complaining about continuous problems in mobile services, call dropping and distortion in voice and many times the services remain out of order due to frequent damage either to machinery or to Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) laid between Rajouri and Jammu. During ensuing week BSNL services including Broad Band, Land Line and Mobile network remained out for services for more than three times and on Thursday its services were resumed at about 8 pm after 12 hours. "Many people can be seen standing outside the banks, cyber cafes, government and private offices whenever internet service get snapped because BSNL has been providing Broad Band services to almost all these offices" said Sunil Kumar, BSNL subscriber. He added frequent call drops, contact not available, call diversion, line busy etc are some other features of BSNL network which irritating its subscribers. " Many times the services gets snapped due to frequent damage to Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) by some JCB machines pressed into services along Jammu-Poonch highway by the contractors to lay new OFC cable exclusively for the use by the Army" said Telephone District Engineer (TDE). He added that some defected telephone lines in some particular areas may be the reason behind non-availability of Internet service, which will be removed soon. About complaint regarding cash collection centre, TDE said he was not aware about this and assured smooth functioning in future. |
