jammu, Mar 20:Three persons were today apprehended by police from Shastri Nagar area here along with heroin and sharp-edged weapons. Police sources said AVTAR, a special police squad, which had laid a naka outside Shastri Nagar cremation ground here, signalled a Honda Accord car (PB65D/1918) to stop for checking. When the car operator ignored the police signal and sped away, the cops overtook it in their vehicle after a hot chase, forcing him to stop, sources said. When cops put car driver Babbar Choudhary alias Babbar, son of Syed Ahmad of Chak Mohammadyar, R S Pura, to frisking, they recovered 10 grams of heroin from him. Two sharp-edged weapons were recovered from the possession of his two associates who were travelling with him in his car. They were identified as Vipan alias Sahab, son of Romesh Kumar of Nai Basti, and Rohit Choudhary, son of Ram Pal Choudhary of Raipur Satwari.
The cops seized the car, heroin and sharp-edged weapons and arrested the accused who were booked under the relevant sections of law. |
