Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 20: The Bharatiya Janta Party on Sunday said that it has kept all the options open and it won't accept anymore conditions laid by its estranged ally Peoples Democratic Party.
Addressing a news conference here the BJP leader and MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina said, "Any more conditions put by the PDP will not be acceptable and in case the alliance partner continues delaying tactics the options for BJP regarding formation of government in the State are open."
Raina termed the fresh conditions laid by PDP chief ridiculous but reiterated that the Agenda of Alliance is supreme for BJP.
He said the coalition led by former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was running smoothly in the state. He said PDP has to make a beginning for government formation in the State as there is no delay from BJP. However the BJP leader hastened to say that no party wants elections as holding of fresh polls is not economically viable for the people of the State.
``The people have given us mandate for six years and we have to come up to their expectations," he said, adding ``Running away from Government formation indicates that we are shirking the responsibility''.
Though Raina did not disclose what are the possible options for BJP in case the PDP refuses to form the coalition with it. Raina was of the view that the BJP had kept many issues pertaining to the interests of the people of the State in agenda of alliance and certain points concerning people of Valley were kept by PDP also. The BJP for smooth running of coalition agreed to keep its core issues like abrogation of Article 370 and Ek Vidhan Ek Pradhan etc away from the agenda so that the coalition can last for full term and the people of the State get a transparent government.
He said there were many issues of BJP which were part of agenda but no head way was made on them during the last 10 months of coalition rule. ``This does not mean that we will cry as we had faith in the governance and we expected that things will move in right direction by and by''.
He said among the main issues which were in the agenda included delimitation of constituencies in Jammu as the region has more area and population than Kashmir, settlement of PoJK refugees and grant of rights to West Pak refugees, rehabilitation of migrants and other militancy victims from Kashmir Valley and Jammu region, grant of rights to SCs and STs at par with other states of the country and giving a corruption free Government to people. He said BJP has 25 legislators and PDP also has 27. Even BJP legislators are also demanding rotational CM during left over five years.
