| PSC organizations discuss demands | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 20: Representatives from various Pahari Speaking Community organizations participated in one day conference held at Behrote in Thanamandi tehsil on Sunday to discuss about the future plan in favour of their long pending demand of Schedule Tribe (ST) Status.
The convention was chaired by veteran Pahari community leader Haji Mohd Sayeed and was chaired by SA Mughal.
Delegates from various Pahari Community organizations lambasted the coalition government ( PDP & BJP) for ignoring the community "Despite the facts that our community had supported the PDP candidates in Pir Panjal region during last Assembly Elections and BJP candidate in the Parliament elections on their assurances to help in getting ST Status for Pahari speaking people, nothing has been done in this regard till today" said Imran Qureshi, youth Pahari leader.
Another Pahari community leader said that any further delay would create resentment among the members of the community, unemployed youth and students who have been facing many challenges in the absence of reservation. |
