| Drug peddler, gamblers held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 20: District Special Branch (DSB) last night arrested a drug peddler and four gamblers from Pacca Danga area.
Police sources said that today following specific information about a drug peddler a team of DSB raised a naka at Pacca Danga area and intercepted him.
"During frisking, police recovered 8 grams of heroin from his possession", said police sources adding that the peddler was arrested and the consignment was seized. The drug peddler has been identified as Rakesh of Lakkarmandi and was handed over to Pacca Danga Police. A case under FIR no. 39/ 16 under section 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered.
Meanwhile, four gamblers were also arrested by the DSB team and Rs one lakh and thirty nine thousand and five hundred was recovered as stake money.
Team also recovered playing cards from the spot along with three mobile phones.
The arrested have been identified as Surinder of Janipur, Rakesh of Chowk Chabutra Nikhil and Rhitik (both brothers) of Khilone Wali Gali. |
