Jammu, Mar 26 : A high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasnathkumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed civil aviation ministry to consider petitioner's December 7, 2015 representation on announcement in Dogri, Kashmiri and Bhoti at the airport.
The court directive came in a PIL, stating that discrimination was being meted out to J&K's local languages Dogri, Kashmir and Bhoti - as far as announcements at the airport in regional languages, besides Hindi and English, was concerned even as these were being made by the Indian Railways.
Disposing of the petition, the bench directed civil aviation ministry to consider the December 7, 2015 representation of the petitioner and take a decision and communicate it to the petitioner within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (JNF) |
