Jammu, April 1: A two day industrial visit tour for Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) students of Civil Engg, 4th Sem was conducted from 28-30 March, 2016 at Chandigarh.
The students visited famous Punjab Electricity Development Authority (PEDA), Municipal Water Treatment Plant, Ready Mix Concrete Technology at Ultra-Tech Ready Mix Concrete Plant in Panchkula, and National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh.
The day one of the visit commenced with a visit to Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) to enlighten students about the need and the technological aspects of green building. The said building has been awarded with Five Star Energy Saving ratings.
This was followed by visit to Municipal Water Treatment Plant .The students were given insight into ready mix concrete technology at Ultra-tech Ready Mix Concrete Plant in Panchkula. The day two was spent within National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) where the students attended a one day workshop on Communication Skills and Reading skills.
The resource persons of the workshop were Prof. P.K Singla and Dr. S.K Gupta Associate Professor, NITTTR. Post-industrial visit, the students were taken to Rock Garden, Thunder Zone and Sukhna Lake.
The students enjoyed fun activities. The students were accompanied by Er. Rajnish Magotra, COD, Civil Engineering Department, and senior faculty members Er Irshan Verma, Er Nikita Sharma and Er Anamika. |
