State BJP has no say on Govt formation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 1: The state BJP has been completely sidelined by the party High Command in New Delhi while discussing modalities for Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir with the PDP. The BJP leaders in the state including some Core Group members were unaware that new Government is going to take oath on April 4. When the news was broken by a PDP leader and advisor to former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Twitter, the BJP leaders were caught by surprise. Barring one senior Party leader who is tipped to be second in the Cabinet after Chief Minister all BJP leaders were caught unaware about the same. Not to talk of that oath taking ceremony is going to take place on April 4 these leaders were not even knowing that Party national general secretary and in charge of the State Ram Madhav who is an interlocutor with PDP is arriving here tomorrow to finalize the team of BJP misters in Council of Ministers. Though many leaders were contacted by media yesterday every one was caught with surprise saying the date for oath taking ceremony has not been finalized. What is more surprising that one of the senior party leaders informed Jammu media that the oath ceremony will be held in Navratas as the holy festival is considered auspicious for such functions and in the same breath when this leader was contacted by a Kashmir based News Agency he disclosed it that oath ceremony can take place any time from April 2 to 4. This is quite surprising that media of Jammu was dodged by not giving the correct date to break the story while a Kashmir based News Agency was given the correct information. The State of affairs in the Party is such that though the coalition is all set to take office on April 4 some leaders even question that how long it will loss. One senior Party leader after the exercise by PDP -BJP was started for Government formation was heard asking some media men that how long this coalition will last? When the media persons asked him that his opinion being a Party senior leader can matter much, the BJP leader said not more than one year. The role of national leaders who are heading the J&K affairs have also annoyed the State leadership and some Partymen question that when the State unit is not being taken into confidence or its views are not ascertained then what is the fun of it. Even the State unit's demand regarding giving equal representation to the Party in Council of Ministers was not considered by High Command and a senior leader who attended the Party meetings here two days back has taken serious exception to the statements made by some leaders in this regard. He asked them not to rush to press with any statement in this regard and make a complete restraint before the media in this regard. |
