2 drug peddlers arrested, 10 kg poppy straw recovered 4/1/2016 11:27:10 PM Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 1 : In continuation to the on-going special drive against drug menace, police party from police post Jawahar Tunnel laid a special naka at Jawahr Tunnel. During checking of vehicles, a truck bearing registration no. RJ131G- 0113 on way from Valley to Punjab was signalled to stop for checking. During the checking of truck, 10 Kg poppy straw was found to be concealed in the specially fabricated fuel tank, being smuggled from Kashmir Valley to Punjab. Accordingly, driver and his associate has been arrested on the spot who have been identified as Bakshish Singh son of Kundan Singh resident of Piddi Tehsil and District Tarantaran and Rajinder Singh son of Darshan Singh resident of Jamsehdpur, Jharkhan at present Village Piddi Tehsil and District Tarantaran. A case FIR No. 36/2016 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Banihal.
