Bovine smuggling bids foiled, 54 bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Apr 1 : Continuing to its drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling by Police, major attempt of bovine smugglings have been foiled in district. Acting on specific information, Police Party of Police Station Batote intercepted 02 trucks bearing registration no.JK02AA-5191 and JK02AF-1379 on way towards Valley from Jammu. During checking of truck, 24 bovines, in total, were found loaded in the truck being smuggled in a cruel manner. Accordingly, a case has been registered at police station Batote under FIR No. 19/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act. Bovines have been rescued and drivers of the trucks namely Mohammad Sadiq son of Mohammad Bashir resident of Talwara and Abdul Qayoom son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Reasi have been arrested. Arrests have been made by police party led by Station House Officer (SHO) Batote, Sameer Jeelani. In another incident, during Naka checking at Patnitop, two trucks bearing registration no. JK02AQ- 3147 and JK02AR - 2845 were stopped for checking. During checking 30 bovines have been found loaded in the vehicles being smuggled to valley in cruel manner. Accordingly, drivers of the trucks namely Zakir Hussain son of Ahmed Ali resident of Khanpur Nagrota and Mohammad Abrar son of Gulam Hussain resident of Dharal have been arrested. Bovines have been rescued and a case FIR No. 20/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Batote. |
