Inter-state narco peddler held with 5 kg ganja | | | Early Times Report jammu, Apr 1: In continuation to the operation Sanjeevni, the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, the Narwal police today claimed to have achieved a major success by seizing five kgs of Ganja with the arrest of interstate drug peddler. "The accused has been Gore Lal son of Lakshman Prasad of Goru District Jahangir Champa, State Chhattisgarh presently staying at Narwal Jammu, police spokesperson said. "On specific information, Police party headed by SHO Trikuta Nagar, Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and SI Mehmood Khan in-charge police post Narwal raided Rajeev Nagar area and found 05 kgs of Ganja from the possession of Gore Lal of Chhattisgarh presently staying at Narwal Jammu," he said. Police said, "Police team seized the narcotics consignment-Ganja and arrested the accused on the spot." "During questioning the arrested disclosed that he used to sell the Ganja in the adjoining area of Trikuta Nagar, police added. Accordingly a case under FIR no 59 /16 u/s 8 /20 NDPS Act stands registered against accused and investigations are on. Operation was supervised by Chandan Kohli SDPO East under the over all supervision of SP South Shazad Salaria. In a similar case Police have arrested two inter-State narcotic smugglers hailing from Chhattisgarh along with ganja near vegetable market road at Narwal on March 3. |
