UCA Kishtwar demands allotment of works | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Apr 25: The United Contractors Association Kishtwar under the chairmanship of Shakir Hussain Sidiqui, President Public Awareness Front Kishtwar today called on Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and demanded adjustment of small contractors on various construction works by splitting the tenders in small patches. The association also submitted a memorandum to DC Kishtwar appraising him about the concern of the contractors and demanded that the authorities should considered their demands. The association said that the road construction of NH1B from Batote Kishtwar sector, perticularly Thathri to Kishtwar, the executing agency R&B department Kishtwar has issued NIT to the tune of Rs. 17 crore for which the local contractors urges to split up the work so as to accommodate local agencies who are jobless at present along with their labour establishment as having registration to the classes like A,B,C etc in order to avoid by helping monopolizing of contractual obligation. They said that Hasti-Sarthal Devi Ji road construction also requires to be split up to the extinct that it suits the local contractors who too could offer their bids so as to enjoy the development of the area by way of solving the unemployed of their labourer. The said that for supply of material like stones etc, there is no fixed quarry's available in the area as such it requires to be identified to avoid extraction of stones in violation of Ribbon Development Act on upper reaches of any site by damaging government structures. |
