DPK criticizes Prof Soz on AFSPA revocation | | | Jammu, Apr 25 : Democratic Pannun Kashmir criticized Prof. Saifiddin Soz, for demanding revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) in J&K. According to press release, the party ridiculed the statement of Prof. Soz forgetting that the situations is not conducive for it in view of the new wave of militancy is hitting Kashmir and instead of strengthening and supporting the continuation of AFSPA in J&K, he is asking for its removal. "It is hypocrisy and double standard, He may not require the AFSPA but the ordinary people who don't have any security, needs AFSPA against the act of terrorists", said Ravinder Jalali, convenor of the Democratic Pannun Kashmir. Why they did not revoke AFSPA when they were in power at the centre as well in the state sharing power with National Confrence. These leaders are themselves well protected by the forces and the strange thing is that they are protected by central forces and not by local police. This is the trust they are reposing in the local police. The spokesperson of the party wants these leaders, who want the revocation of AFSPA, to surrender the security provided to them before seeking the revocation of the said Act. The party also lambasted the former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for terming the Handwara protests as genuine and only expression of anger while talking to Karan Thapar in an interview on media channel. |
