DPS organizes visit to ancient site of Ambaran | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 4: Delhi Public School, Jammu organized a visit to Ancient Buddhist site Ambaran for the classes VI to IX from April 27, May 2. According to press release, tt was initiated to showcase the values of our great glorious past and how Archeological survey of India is constantly working to find out more and more evidences for upcoming generations to enhance our history and make it an interesting subject of study for young students. The excavation of this site revealed the cultural sequence of the following periods - Pre Khushan period(circa second-first B.C.), Khushan Period (circa first to third century A.D.), and Post Gupta Period (circa sixth-seventh century A.D.). The students explored and witnessed the excavation sites and records of their findings by the department. They also noted valuable points required by them to complete the History Projects assigned to them. The Principal, Ruchi Chabra, congratulated the Coordinators and Teachers for successful visit and also said that such type of educational initiatives help the students to go beyond the textbooks and discover the depths of knowledge pertaining to History. |
