JKPS organizes workshop on 'Source waste management' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 6: JK Public School, Kunjwani on Friday organized a workshop on waste management in the school premises. According to press release, the workshop was headed by Anuradha (Scientist), Incharge Municipal Solid Waste State Pollution Control Board, Jammu. The students from class VIth to VIIIth participated in the workshop. The main aim of this workshop was to make students understand about the biodegradable and non- biodegradable wastes and also how to manage them. The students were also apprised about the different sources of waste-management like open-dumping, land-filling and compositing. Also benefits of organic-farming and hazards of non-biodegradable wastes were told to the students. After the workshop the students were encouraged to make bins of different colors for putting different wastes, i.e green for biodegradable and black for non- biodegradable wastes. |
