Bridle bridge in bad condition, needs immediate attention | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6: The only bridle bridge, connecting 30,000 people of Dachhan block in Kishtwar district with the main towns, is in a dilapidated condition and requires immediate attention of the authorities to avoid any catastrophe. As per the details available with Early Times, the wooden bridge having a spain of about 15 meters was constructed at a height of around 20 feet across a nallah some 20 years ago by the public works department, but with the passage of the time and due to non serious approach of authorities towards this wooden bridge, which is the part of Dangdoru-Dachhan bridle path, it is at the verge of the collapse. Locals said the bridle path, having the length of approximately 25 km from Dachhan to nearest road point at Dangdoru, was in dilapidated condition and added that even after 40 years, when the Kishtwar-Dachhan road was taken into hand by the government, the road was still a distant dream for the Dachhan people having a population of more than 30000. They said that despite repeated reminders to the government and administration from time to time, the road project had failed to take off as a result of which the people of Dachhan area were without a road even after 67 years of Independence. They emphasised the need for immediate repairing of the bridge and the bridle path for the convenience of people.
