6 Anganwari centers, several Govt offices found locked during SDM's visit

Kishtwar, May 18: In order to check the attendance in government schools and offices, Sub Divisional Magistrate Chatroo Qazi Masood Ahmed on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan today conducted surprise visit in far flung area of Gurinal, Udail and Chatroo found several offices and school locked which include High School Gurinal which according to the locals is locked since last two years while only one teacher occasionally taught the students in court yard of the school.
As per the details available with "Early Times" SDM visited CDPO, Sub Center Health Udail Guran Chatroo , Anganwari centers at Arigam Darkan Gali, Sheikhpura, Bumalpura, Maripura and found several staff members absent and some centre totally closed.
Government High School Gurinal, was reported to be closed since last two years and during preliminary investigation it was found that the staff posted at the school were putting their signatures on arrival and departure register at home and the same has been recovered from the possession of the local teacher. The SDM found grave irregularities in attendance register. At Middle School Arigam, ReT was found absent which according to people had not attended his duties since long, at Middle School Banipura ReT Nasir Ahmed along with another employee Jagdish Raj were found absent. As per the employees present at School, Jagdish Raj (RRT) is on official duty however on asking about copy of the order if any by SDM Chatroo, they fail to produce the same. Similarly another RRT namely Shivani was also found absent at Upper Primary School Bamalpura also the staff was found absent and some ReTs has not joined duties since their appointment. When contacted SDM Chatroo Qazi informed that all the absentees employees had been placed under suspension and an inquiry team headed by Principal Higher Secondary School Chatroo has been constituted and had been asked to submitted its report in weeks time. "Explanation had also been seek from ZEO Chatroo for his failure in checking the attendance and functioning of government schools in his area" said SDM Chatroo adding that the salary of ZEO Chatroo had also been withheld till the outcome of the inquiry. The matter has also brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar SDM Chatroo also visited Medical aid center Gurinal and checked the availability of the medicines and found that the information given by the concerned officials was true. The employees had been instructed to provide best possible health facilities to the locals.
