Unhappy with posting, SP proceeds on leave, calls on ex-minister | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 24: Not satisfied with his posting, a superintendent of police (SP) first proceeded on 'protest' leave and then called on an ex-minister to get his transfer order modified. Though the ex-minister called up senior officers at PHQ, the SP was not given any choice posting. The duo had so far got only 'fake' assurances from PHQ, police sources said. Sources said the SP was given insignificant posting because of the reason that he was a confidant of the ex-minister. As a mark of punishment, he had been transferred twice in the past two months, sources informed. He was posted in Jammu when the 'powerful' ex-minister had managed his posting in his home district as SSP. But after the politician lost his ministry, PHQ wasted no time in ordering his transfer to an armed Bn as its deputy commandant, sources said. Sources said after the ex-minister tried to build pressure on the authorities concerned for the SP's transfer to some important place, PHQ, in its attempt to teach him a lesson, again ordered his transfer to an unimportant post. The SP then took leave and again approached the ex-minister, who spoke to a senior police officer and told him that the officers, who were considered close to him, were being delebrately targeted. He also spoke to some ministers who assured him that the SP would be given a significant posting in the days to come, sources said. |
