GMCH attendants' park in pathetic condition | | | Mohd Irfan

JAMMU, May 28: Established for the benefit of the attendants coming to hospital so that they can make use of it but the dilapidated condition of the attendants park at Government Medical college (GMCH) Bakshi Nagar opposite to Sir Col.R N Chopra nursing home speaks volume of callousness on the part of authorities that they utterly fails to maintain the park. Attendant park foundation stone laid by Ex- Minister for Health and Medical Education R S Chib in the presence of EX-MLA West Prof.chaman Lal Gupta in the year 2010 is dying slow death courtesy indifferent attitude of the authorities. Sources told Early Times that the department which is entrusted with the maintenance of the park has not able to make this park uplift with the required infrastructure vis-à-vis benches, Mast lights, flowers absent and the wild grass grows because main grass which is necessary outlived its life and park is slowly and gradually turns into garbage dump. Sources said condition of this park is in dilapidated condition since several months but the administration not taking any effort to restore its sanctity otherwise the Government makes claims of proper maintenance of parks as it is essential for the human beings and the so called administration GMCH give lame excuse for not making maintenance of park. The much hyped campaign of PM "Swachh Bahrat Abhiyan" is ostensibly found no takers as the park in deplorable condition and what an irony this park is being situated in premier Government Hospital have faced apathy. An attendant, Tabassum took a Dig over the administration for poor maintenance of park as it doesn't look the park as it turns into garbage dump and the attendants have to face hardships to sit on the grass in this winter and the authorities have turned a blind eye towards this and park constructed is not serving the purpose". Attendants have great resentment against the administration as they have not made well equipped park so that attendants can make use of it, adjoining there is police post GMCH also present they too not expressed concern. Attendants opined that as in hospital there is huge influx of patients coupled with there is not any better place to sit and the park which is constructed too in pitiable condition and the garbage also burnt and put there in the park as the smoke emanating from it is harmful for the attendants. But the question is who cares! When contacted Medical Superintendent GMCH Dr Ravinder Rattan Paul said that there is shortage of sweepers due to which there is delay in making the attendant park clean and put blame on the attendants also for making this park dirty". When asked how many days will it would be taken to maintain this park, he said" we are on the job and with the passage of time we will be able to make the park proper "he maintained. |
