KP youth to launch unified struggle for homeland | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 28: The hue and cry created by separatists and some mainstream organizations including Congress and National Conference (NC) over the construction of separate colonies for Pandits in Valley has been an indication that mass exodus of Pandits from Valley was a part of big conspiracy in which not only the separatists or Jehadis but Valley-based mainstream parties were equally involved. The opposition and protests against the construction of separate colonies for pandits is an indication that the majority community in Kashmir is totally against the return of this microscopic minority on one pretext or other. Their contention of settling Pandits at single place or in colonies is aimed at demographic change of the Valley is totally baseless and has no logic to stand upon is what the leaders of various Pandit organizations feel at present. Though a sizable number of Pandit organizations and leaders have themselves rejected separate colonies and reiterated their demand of separate homeland or one place settlement in Valley with free flow of Indian Constitution is becoming a unanimous opinion among the displaced Pandits now leading refugees life in different parts of country for last 27 years now. To counter the separatists as well as the mainstream parties Kashmiri Pandits have decided to accelerate the struggle for a separate homeland and a group of youth who are strong votaries of the Marg Darshan resolution of 1991 have decided to travel length and breadth of the country meet the KP leaders and motivate them to join homeland struggle by making it a one point agenda of their return. Sources said these youth are in touch with some top leaders of Panun Kashmir factions and are pleading before them to come on a single platform to send a loud and clear message across the country that Pandits are one on homeland issue. These youth have decided to visit Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Karnal, Ambala, Gowaliar, Bhopal, Nagpur, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida as well as Jammu to meet cross section of KP leadership and solicit support for homeland demand. Sources said these activists have also chalked out a formula of bringing all KP organizations on one platform besides those activists of the community who are affiliated to various political parties like Congress, BJP, NC and PDP to support the homeland demand as all political parties including BJP have failed to settle the issue of Pandits during last 27 years. Sources said the youth while challenging the separatists as well as those mainstream parties including Congress for opposing separate colonies for Pandits in Valley said that why can't a separate colony of Pandits be established in Kashmir when the Pandits are the original inhabitants of Valley and history is testimony to that. Sources said these activists have decided to mobilize the public opinion on this issue all over the country seeking support of the people on the basis of humanity and justice and not on communal lines for their rehabilitation in Kashmir. Talking to this reporter Ajay Kaul, a Pune-based KP activist said that they have decided to put the ball in the court of people of India and mobilize public opinion all over country for justice. "We have been thrown out from Valley in the same way as Pandavs were forced to leave Hastanapur and our case is no different than that. So we will launch a Dharma Yudh and seek support of the people of India for our case so that we can get our share of Kashmir which is our original home. "The Pandits will not bow before any body as we have been denied justice and Government of India totally failed to restore our rights to us as have been enshrined in Indian Constitution. So we will appeal people of the country to come to our rescue by seeking justice for us instead of making any plea before the separatists or the main stream parties including Congress which has totally harmed our cause by opposing our settlement in separate colonies." |
