Omar finds it tough to breach Naeem 'wall' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 28: The Omar Abdullah led National Conference is finding it difficult to breach one wall for attacking government. And, the wall is of the Education minister Naeem Akhtar, who is chief spokesperson of the government and the trusted aide of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. Omar Abdullah speaking in the Assembly asked the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to speak about the Handwara incident saying he doesn't want to hear him from the Naeem Akhtar, who he said is not an elected member. Omar had first forget that the cabinet is a the real representative of the government, and there is no distinction between if the minister is from the upper or lower House. By the logic of the Omar Abdullah, former prime minister Manmohan Singh was never elected and he was from the Upper House in all the ten-year. So, the he didn't have any authority to speak as a prime minister? Naeem Akhtar knows the ins- and outs of the National Conference and he can dismantle all their claims with facts and figures. This is one thing which is not much to liking of the NC more so for the Omar Abdullah, who wants to have only his way on all the things. NC has also bitter relations with the Naeem Akhtar. He was instrumental in bringing down the NC by teaming up with the late CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Secondly, he was also instrumental in taking off the especially the Abdullahs' from the trust, which was strongly criticized by then Dr Farooq Abdullah. The NC knows that it can't find any chink in the Naeem. Secondly, he is not only trusted aide of the Muftis' but he is also proponent of bringing close Jammu and Kashmir regions and also for the return of the Kashmiri Pandits. He knows the sensitivities of the Kashmir and why there is an element of 'suspicion' and 'bitterness' in the society there. Naeem is working closely not only with the CM but also with the alliance partner BJP to undo some of the things and in the process will expose many wrong doings of the NC, which is why the Omar Abdullah is more critical of Naeem than even the BJP. |
