| Influential looting govt property; administration in slumber | | |  Early Times Report
rajouri, June 20: What to call it a tragedy or the failure of the district administration that after constructing the official buildings from the public money meant to deliver good governance at their door steps, the district administration of this border district left those official buildings for the loot of those having political influence.
One such case is Patwarkhana Chingus which falls in Chatyar was built with a cost of Rs 2.50 lakh in the year 1990 with the aim to provide convenience to the locals who have to come to Rajouri for the settlement of their various financial and land issues. Initially for few months the Revenue department opened its office but later on that too was closed by them. Since then the locals have approached the district administration several times besides submitting representations to the concerned political leaders but till today nothing has been done so far except the assurances.
Instead of renovating the building because of the petty politics the District administration gave approval of constructing another building in some other areas with an estimated cost of Rs 22 lakh. This shows the negligent and careless attitude of the administration who is wasting the public money. Many times the protest in this regard has been held by the locals but no official has taken any heed in this regard.
When contacted, Tehsildar Mohd Qayum said that he came to know that some kind of encroachment has happened there. However, he assured that he will take up the issue with higher ups and action shall be taken in this regard.
