'Book MLA Rashid for challenging JK's merger with India'
6/21/2016 12:13:33 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 20: Mainstream politicians with separatists leanings are acting as agents of Pakistan and seem hell bent upon raking one or other controversy. For example, MLA Langate, Er Rashid, who has developed a habit of poking his nose into all the matters has once again proved his love for Pakistan by claiming that "Jammu and Kashmir is not an integral part of India."
"One wonders if he is so fed up of India and believes that JK is not a part of India then he should call it quits and move to Pakistan rather than getting paid in Indian rupees and enjoying all the privileges as a legislator," said an analyst.
He said, 'Despite Er Rashid declaring that JK is not an integral part of India in the Assembly none of the legislators from NC, PDP and Congress objected to his remarks. An elected member of the Assembly challenging JK's accession with India in front of the other legislators is unacceptable. He (Er Rashid) should be booked on the charges of sedition. Speaker and other legislators should take a serious note of it and disqualify him from the House, which is a temple of democracy."
A politician said, "When Er Rashid had raised this issue in the House all the legislators should have cut across the party lines and condemned him rather than acting as mute spectators."
He said, "Politicians, who don't believe in Indian democracy and oppose the merger of JK with India have no right to be in the assembly. Such elements should be deported from India and send to the countries which they praise. Er Rashid's salary should be stopped and all the privileges be withdrawn, which he enjoys a legislator. It's not for the first time that he has challenged the sovereignty and integrity of India. He has made it a habit to humiliate India and the people who love India."
A Kashmir watcher said, "Jammu and Kashmir is a strange place. Here nationalist are prevented from hoisting the tricolor and anti-nationals like Yasin Malik, Geelani, Mirwaiz and Er Rashid are provided security and all other privileges. The Government of India should take a note of it."
He said, "People like Er Rashid and others would keep on taking people for a ride till a stern action is not taken against them. He (Rashid) has become a habitual offender and acts like a stooge of Pakistan and separatists. If this time he is let go off the hook it would set a bad precedent and would put a question mark over the government's ability to act against a rogue MLA, who despite being under oath to protect sovereignty and integrity of the country wants to appease the enemies of India."
