Jammu, June 20: A Departmental-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs consisting of twelve MPs, visited International Border and reviewed border managing under the aegis of Border Security Force (BSF). BSF spokesperson said, "The Standing committee including D.Raja and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha led by P Bhattacharya, the MP is visiting Jammu from June 19- 21 with an aim to examine Border management, Modernization of Police and Central Armed Police Forces/organizations. "During the ongoing visit today, the committee was briefed by the IG BSF Jammu DK Upadhyaya on prevailing security scenario on Jammu International border and the border management system and measures undertaken by BSF to ensure fool proof security of the Border, BSF official said. He said, "Afterwards the committee visited border areas of RS Pura Sector and took the first hand stock of the border security." "At Border out Post (BOP) Pittal the committee interacted with farmers/ border population and noted their problems and difficulties to take further their genuine issues. In over all, the delegation was satisfied with present efforts of border management in Jammu region, he added. Giving more details, BSF spokesperson said, from the Jammu & Kashmir Govt Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and Danish Rana, IG (P), Jammu remained associated with the Committee during the visit. |
