Four cops injured in clash as family members resist arrest of 'murder accused'

Rajouri June 20: Four policemen from Manjakot police station were among few people injured in a physical clash and mild lathi charge by the police when people of Rajdhani village resisted the police to proceed to the village to arrest an accused booked in an attempt to murder case.
Police sources said that at about 3.00 pm police party from Manjakot police station rushed to village Rajdhani after an inputs of the presence of Master Iftikhar who among 11 accused booked in a case under FIR No52/2016 registered under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 336 (act endangering life), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 147 (rioting), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) &452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault) RPC.
"Family members and locals blocked the road leading to village Rajdhani and when police tried to clear the road people attacked the police party with stones which lead to physical scuffle and police resorted to mild lathi charge," sources added.
"Police have booked unidentified persons for blocking the way of the police party and organizing attack on the policemen while proceeding on official duty," said Mohd Younis, SHO Manjakot police station.Meanwhile the accused Master Iftikhar taking advantage of melee fled from the area. Police have registered a case against the unidentified persons under sections 353,214 & 332 RPC. No accused has been arrested so for by the police in both the cases, sources added.
On June 15, two neighborers headed by Talib Hussain Domal and Fazal Hussain in village Kalali under Manjakot police station had clashed over a long pending land dispute and one Muzzafar Hussain s/o Talib Hussain while working in the fields was attacked by about eleven persons led by Mohd Irfaq & Mohd Farooq sons of Fazal Hussain.
Accordingly police have booked 11 persons including Mohd Irfaq and Mohd Farooq both brothers.Since then all the accused are at large and police has been tracking them.
