Jammu, June 20: The crime branch (CB) has booked a cop for allegedly managing his appointment in police department on the basis of a fake driving licence. Cop Nand Kumar (No 094691 of IRP 7th Bn), son of Joun Mal of Pouni Main, Reasi, was alleged to have fraudulently obtained a driving licence from the office of ARTO, Rajouri, and managed his appointment in police department by getting additional marks because of the driving licence. According to CB, an inquiry was got conducted through the commandant of IRP 7th Bn and during the course of secret verification, it was found that driving licence No 118/MVD/ARTO/R, which was issued on March 12, 2008 and used by Nand Kumar, was fake and fabricated as no such licence, as per records, was ever issued to him by the ARTO, Rajouri. It was revealed that Nand Kumar had used the driving licence intentionally at the time of his appointment as an additional qualification and obtained its benefit. He was booked by CB under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC. (JNF) |
