| Katyani, Sidhi win in KCSC swimming contest | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 7: Katyani and Sidhi Vinayak bagged first place in girls and boys categories respectively in the swimming competition held at KC Sports Club (KCSC), here today.
Second place in girls group went to Kurkirav Kour, who had close finish, while Samiya Singh remained third. Similarly, in boys event, Adhyan Angral stood second and Sulakh Mehta finished third.
Earlier, to accommodate as many swimmers as possible, heats were conducted to select the best swimmers on time basis in different age groups.
The competition at the state of the art indoor pool was organised to encourage young swimmers to raise their standard of performance at competitive level. A good number of budding swimmers took part with great enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here, the Club intends to organize similar swimming contests in the future under different age categories for boys and girls separately. Those gifted swimmers identified through these competitions would form a swimming team to represent KC Sports Club in various swimming competitions scheduled to be held this summer in Jammu or elsewhere in the State. |
