Misuse of ambulances: Dealers ordered not to 'sell' them to pvt agencies | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: To curb the misuse of ambulances and their unregulated sale in the state, the government has ordered their authorised dealers (trade certificate holders) not to sell them to any private agency without specific NOC from Director Health Services (DHS), Jammu and Srinagar. The decision to this effect was taken by Empowered Standing Committee in a meeting held in Srinagar on June 11 last. Nearly a fortnight after this decision, order No 57-MVD was issued by J&K Transport Commissioner P I Khateeb on June 24 last. The registering authorities of the state - RTOs and ARTOs - would also not register any ambulance to any non-government or private agency without NOC from DHS, the order said. The order reads as: "As per the decision taken in a meeting of the empowered standing committee held on June 11, 2016, with a view to curb the misuse of ambulances and unregulated sale of ambulances in the state, it is hereby ordered that no authorised dealer (Trade Certificate Holder) shall sell any ambulance to any private agency without any specific NOC from the director health services, Jammu and Srinagar. It is further ordered that the registering authorities of the state (RTOs and ARTOs) shall also not register any ambulance to any non-government or private agency without the NOC of the health department." RTOs and ARTOs were directed to ensure that a copy of this order was served upon all the authorised dealers within their jurisdiction. |
