ET Report
Jammu, July 14: Following predecessor's footsteps, the present coalition government is also hoodwinking the rural public and has also been failed to connect rural villages with primary road.
At a time when present coalition government is talking rural road connectivity, there are two panchayats (Deon and Mohar Garh) of Samba district, situated hardly at distance 30 Km from the national highway which are awaiting road connectivity.
Castigating the lackadaisical attitude of the successive government, even present regime, Mohan Lal a resident of village-Padel said that in financial year- 1991-92, the then government had started the construction of the road under NWARD from Deon to Sagoon. "But ironically after lapse of 25 years, the executive agency, Public Works Department has not completed the earth work of the road", said Mohal Lal.
"The 10 Kilometer stretch which connect more than dozen hamlets but owing to non seriousness of the government in term of not releasing funds on time, these two panchayats having dozen hemlets are still depriving from the road connectivity", said another villager Parshotam Singh.
They repeatedly came to notice in former MLA, Yash Paul Kundal and even incumbent MLA, Dr Davinder Manyal but both of them to be seems least bothered about it.
Owing to non availability of road connectivity in these hamlets, the inhabitants especially youth have been traveled more than 10 kilometer distance on foot to reach district headquarter and Schools, Colleges for getting higher education, said Narender Singh a student of Central University of Jammu.
If the road has been completed will play important role for the development of these hilly villages, because it will connects the three holy places i,e Purmandal, Baral Mata and Mansar Lake.
When contacted to PWD Executive Engineer, D K Rampal said that since many years the government has not sanctioned a single penny to develop this road. Last year we send a communiqué to higher officials and demanded five crores for the completion of project, adding that as the government would be sanctioned funds, the works would be started.
