Kishtwar to observe shutdown today, administration kept Army on standby
LeT, HM fomenting trouble in JK, want to vitiate peace in Jammu division

Kishtwar, July 14: Various organizations including separatists today announced shutdown call for Friday in Kishtwar district over the killings of three dozen civilians in Kashmir post killing of poster boy Hizbul Burhan Wani last week.
Keeping in view of shutdown call, district administration has sent a requisition to army asking them to remain on standby in case the administration requires the services of the army in dealing law and order situation in the district.
As per the details available with "Early Times" Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo, Immam Bunastan Masjid Manzoor Ahmed Ganie and separatist leader Abdul Qayoom Mattoo jointly made the announcement from loudspeaker of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar asking the people to observe complete shutdown in the district to protest against the killings of civilians beside injuries to hundreds of people in clashes between the people and the security force personnel.
The business community, transporters and owners of the private coaching institutions and schools had been asked to observed the shutdown. Keeping in view of the shutdown call, Kishtwar police and administration had put tight security cover in place to deal with law and order situation.
As per the inputs, the separatist leaders had asked the Immams of local Masjids to held protest against Kashmir unrest while at the same time efforts are being made to held a protest march from some local mosques towards the Jamia Masjid Kishtwar after Friday prayers.
The senior officials informed the "Early Times" that they will not allow anyone to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Kishtwar added that anyone who will try to disturb the peace and communal harmony will be dealt with iron hands.
Earlier Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan and Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom held a joint meeting with representatives of Muslim Community and members of Sanathan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar wherein both the communities had been requested by the administration and police to help them in maintaining peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in Kishtwar.
The representatives of both the communities assured the administration that they will provide all possible help to them in promoting peace and communal harmony and blamed non locals for fuming trouble by restoring to anti peace and anti national activities and demanded stern action against such elements. Both the communities asked the representatives to respect the sentiments of each other.
The representatives of Sanathan Dharm Sabha though regretted the killings of civilians, but not that of Burhan Wani who was killed by the security forces in an encounter at Kokernag along with his two associates. The members of Muslim community also assured them that they will help the administration and police in maintaining peace and communal harmony and will hold peaceful protest against the killings of the civilians.
The members of the minority community gives a clear massage to the administration and police that they will not put their shutters down tomorrow and asked the administration and representatives of Muslim community to ensure their security by not enforcing force shutdown.
Meanwhile intelligence sources informed the "Early Times" that Pakistani militant outfit LeT and Hizbul Mujahedeen are making attempts to fume trouble in Kashmir and peaceful areas of Jammu division, particularly in Muslim dominated areas of Jammu province so that things could be made difficult for the government of India as well as for the state government.
The sources said that LeT and HM is utilizing the services of the separatist and its OGWs to stoke communal patience and to provoke the youths for restoring to violence tactics. The sources said that efforts are being made to block the access of LeT and Hizb in the state so that normalcy could be restored in the state that has witnessed massive clashes between the protesters and the security forces in which over 1600 people including about 300 security personals were injured in last one week.
The sources said that though the intensity of the clashes between protesters and the security personals had been lower down, but keeping in view of Friday tomorrow; more clashes could be witnessed for which necessary efforts are being made to prevent the law and order situation from worsening.
