Amarnath Yatris facing hardships thanks to BJP ministers 7/14/2016 11:13:32 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 14: Notwithstanding tall claims of the BJP, hardships being faced by the Amarnath Yatris multiplying with every passing day due to non cooperative attitude being adopted by the ministers of the BJP, who claimed themselves to the well-wishers of the Hindus. Officers of the departments under BJP Ministers are taking every opportunity to harass Amarnath Yatris because there is no one to check such harassment of the helpless pilgrims. Transport Department is glaring example, which has left no stone unturned to harass the Yatris by imposing one after another fine on the pilgrims, who were stranded at various locations of Kashmir Valley due to on going unrest. BJP Minister, Sunil Sharma is Minister of State (MoS) Independent charge of Transport Department but he has failed to give directions to his departments to provide relief to the pilgrims due to prevailing situation. What to say of providing relief to pilgrims, BJP Minister's department rather adding woes to the pilgrims by imposing one after another fine. According to reports, Yatris, who were stranded due to unrest in the Kashmir Valley are are being made to pay a fine of Rs 2,000 per vehicle per day while returning to their native places at Lakhanpur which is the gateway to J&K. Shockingly, many other departments have waived off taxes on the pilgrims due to prevailing turmoil in the Valley but unfortunately, departments under BJP ministers, are imposing additional financial burden on the pilgrims. Enraged over the attitude of the transport authorities, pilgrims had staged a demonstration at Lakhanpur twice in last one month but no decision in this regard has been taken. Some pilgrims tried to contact BJP leaders but they did not give any response on the phone.
