AI, HRW interfering in India's internal affairs | Kashmir Unrest | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jul 14: Pro-separatist, highly communal and anti-India London and US-based human rights organizations such as Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) have again joined hands and interfered in India's internal affairs. The case in point is the prevailing unrest in the Valley in the wake of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani's lawful killing at the hands of the security forces and the manner in which the duly-elected government of Mehbooba Mufti has been tackling the situation. The AI and the HRW, which hardly shared the agony of the internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus and hapless and abandoned refugees from Pakistan and POJK, as also the agony of the politically, socially and economically marginalized people of Jammu province, whose human rights consistently violated by the successive Kashmiri-dominated governments in the state, have denounced the state government and the Narendra Modi government and charged them with violating the human rights of the Kashmiri Muslims. They have also accused New Delhi and the government of Mehbooba Mufti of using excessive force against the protestors. India should conduct an impartial probe into the use of lethal force by police during the violent protests following the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani in Kashmir and ensure that basic human rights are protected, they have said, and added a major grievance of those protesting in Kashmir is the failure of authorities to respect basic human rights. "Rock-throwing at demonstrations is serious but does not provide police a free pass to use force against protesters," they have said. Put in any amount of efforts to find if these so-called champions of human rights have said a word against the separatists, militants and communalists in Kashmir, who have created very serious law and order problem in the Valley with a view to wrecking the Indian state and making the Mufti government dysfunctional, you will come out of the exercise minus everything. They have not uttered a word of condemnation against the Geelanis, the Mirwaizs, the Maliks and their ilk, who have been instigating the gullible Kashmiri Muslims against India and provoking them to on to the streets to take the law of the land into their own hands. Besides, they have not said a word about the security forces who have been discharging their official duties and fulfilling their obligations to the Indian state against all odds and in a very hostile environment. It is not the first occasion when the AI and the HRW interfered in the country's internal affairs. They have been doing so since decades to extend overt and covert support to the enemies of the humanity and the Indian nation overlooking the fact that it is the fundamental duty of any state to protect its unity, integrity and sovereignty and bring to justice those who work against the institution of the state. . The AI and the HRW must stop interference in the internal affairs of India. Their interference has only emboldened the terrorists, separatists and communalists in Kashmir and this is utterly unacceptable. It is time for Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and the Narendra Modi Government to tell these perverted organizations to hold themselves aloof from India and its Jammu and Kashmir.
