No shortage of medicines, other surgical appliances in Kashmir hospitals: Govt | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 14: Asserting that there is no shortage of medicines and other surgical appliances in the hospitals in Kashmir valley, the Jammu and Kashmir government today said that every possible medicare will be extended to the injured for their early recovery. As many as 37 people, including a policeman, have lost their lives while over 2000 persons, including security force personnel, have been injured in clashes since Saturday in Kashmir valley. Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat, who today chaired a high level meeting of officers of health department, reviewed the availability of medicine and other medical supplies in hospitals across the Valley. Meanwhile, Advisor to Chief Minister, Professor Amitabh Mattoo also conducted an extensive tour of various health institutions of Srinagar city and took stock of healthcare facilities being provided to injured there. The Minister directed the concerned for extending every possible medicare to the injured for their early recovery. He directed the concerned for ensuring free supply of medicines to the patients. He said that the team of senior ophthalmologists from AIIMS, which is on tour of Valley, expressed satisfaction over the healthcare facilities being provided to the injured persons. The Minister said that there is no shortage of medicines and other surgical appliances in the hospitals. The Minister informed that the department has organized blood donation camps in District and Sub-District hospitals and collected about 300 blood points. Bhagat also called upon the authorities for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in the hospital premises, saying that there should be no compromise in this regard. |
