Three villages without due road connectivity in Pouni

Reasi, July 14: Although several schemes have been initiated by the union as well as state government to create better road connectivity, three villages with more than 10 thousand population in Pouni of Reasi district are still without road connectivity, reports said.
According to residents of area, the process for construction of roads which would connect three villages Sadeen, Dadua and Upper Kothian some 25 years ago but the same still confines only in papers.
"We are being discriminated by both the district administration and the public representatives, as despite repeated request for over two decades roads for road connectivity to these villages yet have failed to get response", the locals lamented, adding that in adjoining areas numbers of roads have been constructed or under construction under union government's flagship programme Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Tehsil Pouni.
"We have submitted a number of memorandum to concerned MLA, Executive Engineer PWD, R&B Reasi but all in vain", said a resident of village Sadeen, adding that they are left with no option but to take to roads.
"In case of any untoward incidents, the residents feel discriminated, when they do not find any option to reach main road," he said, non connectivity of road also affect development of the area.
"We even have also requested to MLA to sanction roads for these areas under PMGSY, but our plights remains un-listened," he added.
If recalled here that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was started in Jammu Kashmir in 2000 with the aim to develop a massive road connectivity grid to connect all small habitations with the nearest urban centers but this scheme too have not given any respite to the villagers in these localities.
In a fervent appeal to Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti, the local have sought her intervention in this matter so that the residents can get a bit of respite from more sufferings.
