Christian Association demands Governor's Rule in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 14: Expressing its serious concerns over the prevailing tense situation in Kashmir valley, the Jammu & Kashmir Christian Association, today said as elected government has failed miserably and there is no any other solution than to impose the Governor's Rule in the state under Section 92 of J&K State Constitution. In a meeting held under the presidentship of Waris Gill Advocate President J&K Christian Association members observed we as a Christian feel it our moral duty to intervene in the present situation and not to remain as a silent spectator, being the disciples of Jesus Christ who is called the Prince of Peace according to the Bible. Mr Gill said, "So far according to government atleast 36 persons have been killed and 1500 injured which include civilians and armed forces and it appears as if there is no governance. "The present government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has failed on all fronts, he said and added there is no need of the elected government which has failed miserably and there is no any other solution than to impose the governor's rule in the state of J&K, under Section 92 of the J&K State Constitution. Waris Gill President J&K Christian Association on behalf of Christians of J&K State appealed to people irrespective of caste, creed and colour to maintain peace and communal harmony at all costs and fulfill the dream of Mahatma Gandhi who had seen the ray of light in Kashmir when the whole India was burning and was under darkness. |
